Refugees: VERON statement on convention venue

The Dutch national society VERON has responded to concerns over press
reports regarding the venue for their Ham Radio Convention which will
take place on Saturday, Nov 7, at the Americahal in Apeldoorn

Apparently the municipality of Apeldoorn had indicated that the
Americahal would be used as a temporary emergency shelter for 400
refugees until November 5.

This date raised concerns about the availability of the venue,
however, a letter from the branch manager of the Americahal indicates
the date is incorrect. The venue should only be used as a refugee
shelter until September 25 after which scheduled events such as the
VERON Ham Radio Convention can continue.
