NC1I successfully uses 2 x 14el for EME DXpedition on 144MHz

*InnovAntennas* product customer turn-key EME system for the experienced
ham or beginner, for portable, DXP or home use! Here is an example of a
happy Ham!

''I have attached an image of the antenna setup we had for our Connecticut
expedition. First I should tell you that we were very impressed with the
quality of the antenna and ease that they went together. We set the loop up
per the recommended dimensions and each antenna measured right around 1.1/1
without any adjustment. We did not make any attempt to improve on that.
During our second night of operation we had heavy rain and the SWR actually
got a little better!!

The good news is the antennas worked great. The bad news is we had a real
problem on receive that was unrelated to the antenna performance. A
combination of line noise, large adjacent RF signals, and noise leaking
from some of our station USB interconnect cables dropped our receive
capability by nearly 10 dB! We spent most of the first three nights of our
4 night operation trying to locate the problems and resolve (or at least
improve) them. Finally by the last night we were hearing the way we should.
The biggest culprit by far was the USB cables used in our equipment setup.
The worse one was the connection between the computer (laptop) and the SPID
MD-01 controller.

We only worked about 35-40 stations total over the first three moon passes.
That was due to the noise and the time we spent working on a resolve rather
than operating. Finally on our last night, after resolving our receive
issues, we worked around 75 stations. Unfortunately by that fourth moon
pass I think some stations had given up calling us.

In the end we could not have been any more pleased with the antennas! We
have made a decision to either go back to Connecticut and/or activate Rhode
Island on 2 meter EME in the spring. In all likelihood we will purchase two
more of the 14 element LFA's and put up four next time.

We will keep you posted.

Thanks,"
