Russia and Poland offer World Amateur Radio Day Awards

World Amateur Radio Day (WARD) takes place Thursday, April 18 and
awards are available from both Russia and Poland.

WARD commemorates the founding of the International Amateur Radio
Union (IARU) on April 18, 1925.
The theme for this year's event is "Amateur Radio: Entering Its Second
Century of Disaster Communications".

The Polish award is available for any 20 contacts on HF or 10 contacts
on VHF/UHF. They say a special distinction will be awarded for
contacts made via amateur satellites. Further details at

To gain the Russian award you need to contact 18 countries of the
world on April 18, 2013, using the CW mode. Send a log extract of
these contacts and send to rk6ax  mail.ru and receive in electronic
form, an award for your part in the celebration.
