Confusion on Swedish high-power permit fee demands
On November 1, 2018 Sweden's regulator PTS reduced the licence-exempt
amateur radio power limit to just 200 watts, higher powers are only
available by special permits costing £24
Google translation of SSA post:
In recent days, many who have been granted high-power permits have received
an invoice on the license fee. Some confusion has arisen because the
National Post and Telecom Agency seems to have used an old template for the
invoices. PTS now lets you know the following:
PTS has become aware that there is a wrong text on the invoice for amateur
radio licenses for up to 1000 W pep
The invoice that you have received with the incorrect invoice text
"Experiment transmitter 50-52 MHz" applies to your license for amateur
radio for up to 1000 W pep
Check that it is the correct name, address, license number. The fee is SEK
284 or less if your license begins to apply later than 2019-01-01. PTS will
not send out a new invoice but ask you to be friendly and pay this.
PTS apologizes for this and promises to change the text on future invoices.
