5:5 Amateur Radio Activity Session

Every May 5 is the festival of amateur radio enthusiasts in China - the *5:5
amateur radio festival* - on Sunday, May 5

A translation of the CRAC announcement reads:

The Chinese Radio Amateurs Club (CRAC) will hold the "5:5 amateur radio
communication event" to commemorate the festival of amateur radio
enthusiasts in China.

Yaesu Electronic Equipment Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. has provided
sponsorship in the form of prizes for this event.

The activity session runs from 0000-2359 BJT on May 5 using Data Modes, SSB
or CW in the 7, 14, 21 and 28 MHz bands and Phone in the 144 and 430 MHz
bands.

Stations will be calling CQ 55 and adding 55 after the signal reports
e.g.59(9) 55. Maximum power is 100 watts on HF and 25 watts on VHF/UHF.
