French ham radio statistics 1997 to 2017

The Passion-Radio site has published figures for French amateur radio
licenses from 1997-2017 and exam passes from 2010-2017

In 2017, France had 13,285 amateur license holders, a slight decrease
of -1.5% compared to 2016.

The site notes that in 2012  the Class 1 (with Morse test) and Class 3
(F0 - Entry Level) licenses were discontinued leaving only the single
HAREC Class 2 license. Since then the number of students enrolling for
the 40 question, 45 minute French HAREC Exam has been in free fall,
dropping -58%, with 208 exam entries in 2017 of which 137 passed.
