IARU R1 EC Meeting Minutes


Minutes for the 2018 Executive Committee Meeting was held February 16-18, 2018 at the DARC Headquarters in Baunatal, Germany are now available 

The minutes note that EI3IO mentioned that he had been approached by ECO Copenhagen about a possible need to revise ETSI standard EN 301783 which addresses commercial amateur radio equipment. It is understood that this standard was prepared and maintained by the European offices of major amateur equipment manufacturers.

EI3IO presented document 09a on licensing issues, including an Entry Level Licence (ELL). While IARU Region 1 has a coordinating role towards CEPT, licensing initiatives need to be taken at national level. This is particularly relevant to the ELL, where CEPT is being asked to agree to the concept and produce a new recommendation and a revision to Report 89. Whether to implement is a national decision.
