Norwegian ham radio license changes

Changes to Norway's Amateur Radio license came into effect on August 10, 2018

1,000 watts is permitted on the 50-52 MHz Primary allocation.

1,000 watts can now be used at VHF/UHF for moon bounce (EME) and
Meteor Scatter without needing individual permission.

Unlicensed persons may operate radio equipment for radio amateur
activities through a group, club or association as part of recruitment
and training for the radio amateur license.

Unfortunately there was some bad news, amateur radio transmissions
from uncrewed aircraft e.g. drones and model planes are forbidden.

Norway has a single class of Amateur Radio license. It is thought the
single 28 question exam paper (pass mark 21), to get the equivalent of
a CEPT Class 1 licence (equal to UK Full), may be the shortest of any
CEPT country.

The Norwegian national society the NRRL report that a recent training
course in Bergen required 12 evenings of study from scratch (about 24
hours total) and achieved an impressive pass rate of 95%
