IARU Region 1 Depleting Reserves

A paper by IARU Region 1 President, Don Beattie G3BJ, for the Landshut
Conference in September notes "The longer term financial outlook for
Region 1 is poor"

The paper, LA17_C3_20 The Future Financial Strategy for IARU Region 1
– a summary, says:

"It will be noted that the general fund is depleted by 2021, and total
reserves by 2023. At that point Region 1 would be insolvent."

The paper suggests a number of changes to address the problem,
regarding the Youth Programs it says:

"refocus the YOTA programme and devolve some activity or increase
participant contribution. Saving 42k over three years starting 2020"
