We have now finished testing and calibrating the first production
batch of Sentinel SDR receivers.

This receiver is designed to be used with the Sentinel SDR program.

The program has a built-in digital mode section and a noise measuring
function that takes accurate measurements of HF background noise over
five frequencies in the HF bands and sends telemetry reports every 10
minutes to the APRS-IS (APRS internet system). An APRS message with
more detailed measurements is also sent to Gwyn Williams, G4FKH for
his noise measurement project:

The receiver is based on the CCW SDR-4+ with a E-PHEMT RF amplifier
and DDS frequency control. It covers a range of 2 to 15 MHz. The front
end RF filters are very tight for example the response at 1.4 MHz is
60 dB down on 2 MHz.

A calibration chart is included with each receiver so that the noise
measurement results can be correctly calibrated.

The Sentinel receiver is now available at the same price as the SDR-4+ receiver.
