Cross Country Wireless have just launched a new version of their
crystal controlled SDR receiver.

The Experimenter's Special SDR Receiver covers 6 to 15 MHz depending
on the choice of crystal.

In the X1 position is a crystal for a centre frequency of 7.156 MHz in
the 40m phone section.

A crystal socket in the X2 position allows HC25/U crystals to be easily changed.

The receiver comes with a selection of crystals for 7.056, 9.000 (for
some Yaesu, Kenwood and Icom IF frequencies), 10.125 and 14.250 MHz.

A look in the crystal box or browsing at the local radio rally or
HamFest will provide some interesting frequencies. For instance a
crystal for the 10m QRP CW channel on 28.060 MHz would divide by four
to 7.015 MHz. A computer crystal 13.521 MHz times 3 gives 40.563 MHz
which divides by four to 10.14075 MHz. Third overtone crystals
oscillate at their fundamental in the oscillator circuit.

It's called the "Experimenter's Special" because it as well as being
able to change crystals it's possible to change the socket mounted ICs
as well.

It's also possible to use the receiver as a crystal tester.

It comes ready built and tested.
