Raspberry Pi used for Amateur Radio APRS
Among the many ham radio applications that the $35 Raspberry Pi computer board has been used for is APRS.

APRS is an amateur radio two-way tactical real-time digital communications system between all assets in a network sharing information about everything going on in the local area.

The YouTube description says:

This is my Raspberry Pi attached to my Knewood TM-D700 while bench testing. The boot hangs on network config because no network was attached. I wanted to show that this is working completely offline. I do not have GPS attached in this test but will attach a GPS to the UART on the GPIO.
