Press release
Eleven years of development have finally paid off for Fractal Antenna
Systems, Inc.

The firm announced today that it has perfected a new wideband antenna
approach based upon its proprietary fractal technology. The new
approach, dubbed ‘dissimulation ™ antennas’, is designed to solve the
problems encountered with real antennas in the warfighter’s
environment, while attaining form factors that disguise the antennas’
functionality.

The modern warfighter needs wideband antennas. Previous efforts that
are now in use, are highly restricted by their size, component
complexity, weight, power handling, and heat dissipation, as well as
frequency coverage. Inventor Nathan Cohen notes: ”Wideband antennas
now in use are a hodge-podge of conventional designs clunked together
in a single antenna. The compromises they introduce set severe
restrictions on the user scenario, size, cost, and enablement. In our
dissimulation ™ antennas, we have freed up that set of restrictions as
best as the laws of nature allow.”

Using intricate, self-repeating and self-scaling fractal geometry,
this antenna approach has achieved the ‘sweet spot’ of wide bandwidth,
with small size and construction simplicity, while interfacing
smoothly with existing equipment. “ We tried solving these problems
many years ago, working first with British MOD, and over many years
have made evolutionary performance improvements with our USG and DOD
offerings. But the final outcome is something really new and exciting.
The fact that we did this with fractals is no accident, but a
deliberate effort to leverage all the advantages that fractals have
shown us over the course of decades”, notes Cohen.

One key advantage to the dissimulation™ antenna approach is the
deceptiveness of their appearance relative to their performance
matrix. “Good luck eyeballing one of these antennas and guessing what
they are being used for or how well they work. Most can hardly be
recognized as being antennas. They are naturally stealthy. The
technology is a real game-changer”, says Cohen.

The dissimulation ™ antenna line is at advanced TRL levels and
available for immediate needs and acquisition for EW, DF, SIGINT ,
COMS, and other antenna applications. Available directly and sold to
US Gov’t, DOD, and NATO nations only.
