AMSAT-UK SDR Dongle auction a success

AMSAT-UK held a fund-raising auction on eBay for Serial Number 200 of their popular Software Defined Radio dongle - it sold for £430.

The auction was held to raise funds for the FUNcube satellite which is currently under construction. 

FUNcube is an educational single cubesat project with the goal of enthusing and educating young people about radio, space, physics and electronics. It also carries a 435/145 MHz linear transponder for SSB and CW communications.

The FUNcube SDR dongle usually sells for £125 and the price fetched exceeded all expectations. The purchaser of the dongle will also have their name or callsign sent into space on FUNcube.
