 wanted to tell that the BaoFeng / PoFung DM-5R is not capable of TDMA, 
even with the latest update. I flashed my radio yesterday and made some 
tests in the evening.</p><p> So when using simplex, all is fine, and also for hotspot usage.<br>
 But when operating on a repeater, it messes up the unused timeslot, as 
it transmits CW/continuously. However it works and is normally heard on 
the repeater, what makes things even worse, wish it simply would not 
work at all on repeaters. One without this knowledge even does not 
realize that he is doing harm to other users.</p><p> When you think of using a real DMR repeater with it, forget it. You will not make friends with it <span class="gmail-_47e3" title="smile emoticon"><span class="gmail-_7oe">:)</span></span></p><p> Also the mic sensitivity is quite low, the modulation sounds not very good.</p><p>
 RF performance looks good, by means of blocking it is better than a 
Tytera MD-380. RX audio is OK. Maybe later I can hook it to my tester 
for RX sensitivity, TX power, deviation, frequency accuracy, but I do 
not expect any surprise from that.</p><p> The CPS is so far easy to use,
 easy to understand if one knows DMR, it has some typos in the menus, 
but I have seen worse software from China. The cable seems to be one of 
the normal ones, common for this kind of radio, with a USB/COM converter
 inside.</p> I decided to keep mine, as a DMR scanner and for the 
occasional simplex/hotspot operation. Otherwise I stay with my trusted
