RSGB’s Three Youth Proposals<br>

Essex Ham report on the three proposals presented by the RSGB Chairman<br>
in the August issue of RadCom<br>
<br>
The August 2014 RadCom contains an interesting editorial from the<br>
RSGB’s Chairman, Graham Murchie G4FSG. It sees a return to the subject<br>
of “How do we attract more young people into the hobby”.<br>
<br>
The RSGB is suggesting action in three areas to try to attract younger<br>
people to take up amateur radio one of which is a new Entry Level<br>
licence which could give access to the 144 and 430 MHz bands.<br>
<br>
It has been suggested elsewhere the exam could be more straight<br>
forward than Foundation and might follow the approach taken in other<br>
countries, perhaps just a 15 minute exam on Rules, Regulations and<br>
Operating Procedure ?<br>
