Radio ham&#39;s Facebook petition success</h1><p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);text-transform:none;text-indent:0px;letter-spacing:normal;word-spacing:0px;white-space:normal;background-color:rgb(255,255,255)"><strong>Richard NW7OR</strong><span> </span>organized a petition to allow radio amateurs to use their call sign as their Alternate Name or &#39;nickname&#39; on their Facebook profile<span> </span><br>
<br>Facebook responded positively and Richard has now posted the following on the petition site:<span> </span><br><br><em>Officially licensed amateur (ham) radio operators may now use their call sign as their Alternate Name, or nickname, on their individual profiles.<br>
<br><strong>Jeff KB1PNB</strong>, who works at the Facebook Headquarters in Menlo Park, California found this petition on an amateur radio Facebook Group to which he belongs, and then did some research, wrote the necessary code, then got it reviewed and approved.<br>
