vidas de um avião de passageiros!<BR><BR>Ele ouviu o pedido de socorro do voo
Dublin-Boston e fez uma ligação com um aeroporto. Até onde pode chegar a ajuda
dos radio amadores em todas as áreas, é algo que nunca saberemos muito bem.
Especialmente, quando dos dois lados se encontram operador e ouvinte.<BR>Este é
o caso de Benny Young, um rádio amador americano que estava sintonizado na
comunicação de aeronaves, quando ouviu um pedido de socorro (mayday) do voo da
United Airlines de Dublin para Boston. Esta ocorrencia teve lugar durante o
furacão Sandy que atingiu a costa leste dos Estados Unidos no final de
Outubro.<BR>Segundo foi dado a conhecer pela companhia aérea afetada e pelas
autoridades de tráfego aéreo, o avião voou sem qualquer meio de comunicação, em
condições muito perigosas que poderia ter resultado em um acidente trágico. Após
o contacto de rádio com o piloto, Young fez uma ligação entre este e o
aeroporto, assegurando que ambos recebessem as respectivas mensagens. "Eu acabei
de falar com o piloto por cerca de 17 minutos e deram-me os dados da rede de
emergência. No aeroporto, ouviam-me mas não podiam ouvir o piloto por causa de
um problema com os transponders no chão, que haviam sido afetados pela
tempestade.<BR>Nós fomos capazes de conseguir desviar o avião porque os ventos
chegaram a ser medidos a 95 kmh em Boston ", explicou.<BR>Sua aventura não
termina aí. Na mesma noite ajudou outro avião que comunicou com ele na mesma
