</o:shapelayout></xml><![endif]--></head><body lang=PT link=blue vlink=purple><div class=WordSection1><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US>GB2012MS begins operation<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US>Manchester Olympic special event call sign GB2012MS begins official operation today after final testing was carried out on Wednesday and Thursday.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US>Operating from the Trafford Metrovicks Rugby Club headquarters just down the road from the football ground at Old Trafford, the station is celebrating the role of Manchester in the Olympics. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US>Aptly the first two contacts made during testing using the SES call sign were GX4WAB, the "Follow the Flame" station and 2O12L the London Olympic station respectively.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US>The station will be manned by the members of the South Manchester Radio and Computing Club and will be working in close co-operation with the other two special event stations in the area GB2012MV and GB2012MW.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US>The Station will be operational from approximately 18:00Z this evening and will remain in operation every week day evening and all day every weekend until the closing ceremony of the Paralympics in London on the 9th of September.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US>The station will be mainly operational on the high frequency bands although appearances on VHF and above are expected.
