These frequencies are used by weak signal SSB/CW satellite transponders and even a few watts of FM can cause severe interference.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US>Some FM operators are unaware that if they use these frequencies their local chat across town will be heard thousands of km away and, in doing so, will block the satellite.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US>Alexandru Csete OZ9AEC made this recording on Saturday, May 5, 2012 using the AMSAT-UK FUNcube Dongle and Gqrx SDR. It shows very strong FM transmissions on the FO-29 linear transponder which could be from Spain or Portugal. The topic appears to be chocolate.
