AMSAT-UK held a fund-raising auction on eBay for Serial Number 200 of their popular Software Defined Radio dongle - it sold for £430.<br>
<br>
The auction was held to raise funds for the FUNcube satellite which is currently under construction.<br>
<br>
FUNcube is an educational single cubesat project with the goal of enthusing and educating young people about radio, space, physics and electronics. It also carries a 435/145 MHz linear transponder for SSB and CW communications.<br>
<br>
The FUNcube SDR dongle usually sells for £125 and the price fetched exceeded all expectations. The purchaser of the dongle will also have their name or callsign sent into space on FUNcube.<br>
