<h1>AM/SSB Valve (tube) QSO Party </h1>
<p>South Africa's <strong>Antique Wireless Association</strong> is throwing an <strong>AM/SSB Valve QSO Party</strong>. </p>
<p>It is a phone contest over two sessions on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 October 2010. The AM section takes place on Saturday 9 October, 15:00 to 19:00 CAT, with contacts on both the 40 m and 80 m bands for points. On Sunday 10 October from 15:00 to 19:00 CAT, the SSB section will be held with contacts on the 40 m and 80 m bands for points. </p>
<div>The frequencies are: <strong>7,053 to 7,100 MHz on 40 metres</strong>.<br>On <strong>80 metres they are 3,603 to 3650 MHz</strong>. </div>
<div>The exchange is a call sign, RS and consecutive serial numbers starting at 001, plus type of radio used, e.g. HT37 Tx.</div>
<p>Points can be scored as follows: <br>all valve radio - 3 points per contact; <br>hybrid (valve & solid state) - 2 points per contact; <br>solid state radio - 1 point per contact.</p>
<p>On a multiplier, points will be as follows: <br>all valve radio - 3 points per contact; <br>hybrid (valve & solid state) - 2 points per contact; <br>solid state radio - 1 point per contact.</p>
<p>Certificates will be awarded to the first three places in each category, namely AM and SSB.</p>
