Vehicle remote control jammer

The UK Freeads website carries an
advert for a vehicle remote control jammer that claims to block anti-theft alarm
and remote locking functions that inexplicably operate, totally inappropriately,
within the Amateur Radio 70cm band.

The product itself looks like a low power transmitter that
operates on 433.920 MHz. It's price seems steep considering that several Amateur
Radio hand-held transceivers for that frequency are cheaper and would jam over a
far greater range.

Why UK vehicle remote locking and alarms systems are on
this frequency is a mystery. Far more suitable and secure frequencies exist at
868 and 917 MHz.
