<P><FONT size=2><FONT size=5><STRONG>Egyptian Radio Amateurs Society for
Development (ERASD)</STRONG></FONT><BR><BR><BR><FONT face=Tahoma size=3>Egypt
announces the establishment of the Egyptian Radio Amateurs Society for
Development (ERASD), the national official representative body for radio
amateurs in Egypt.<BR><BR>Despite the fact that amateur radio has been present
in Egypt since the early twenties of the last century, there was no officially
recognized society to represent radio amateurs in Egypt for nearly the past
eight decades.<BR><BR>The earnest efforts by a steering group composed of
seasoned radio amateurs (Greiss Sobhi, SU1GS - Said Kamel, SU1SK, Atef Osman,
SU1AO - Hossam El Shenawy, SU1HM – Sayed Abdel Samie, SU1SA) had eventually
borne fruit by the incorporation of ERASD on 7 June 2010 as the officially
recognized representative body for radio amateurs in Egypt under the
registration no. 7902 for the year 2010.<BR><BR>The newly elected board members
are:<BR><BR>Greiss Sobhi (SU1GS) – President,<BR>Sayed Abd El Samie (SU1SA) –
Vice president,<BR>Said Kamel (SU1SK) – Secretary,<BR>Atef Osman (SU1AO ) –
Treasurer,<BR>Hossam El Shenawy (SU1HM) - IARU Liaison.<BR><BR>The Egyptian
