<H1>Digital communications boost in VK2 </H1>
<P><FONT face=Tahoma>Amateur Radio New South Wales has appointed a Digital
Communications Coordinator, <STRONG>Andrew Gilbett VK2XAG</STRONG>, to research,
coordinate and provide advice on current and emerging digital modes and systems.
</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Tahoma>His first step is to set up a Software Defined Repeater at
the VK2WI Dural site on the 70cm band. </FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Tahoma>Andrew VK2XAG has been a radio amateur for three years and
currently studying Electrical Engineering at the University of Technology,
Sydney. This SDR repeater will be part of his university theses. </FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Tahoma>Anyone within range of Dural is asked to watch for the
repeater on 438.600 MHz with a negative 5 MHz offset. </FONT></P>
