<H1>Icom ceases production of IC706 </H1>
<P><FONT face=Tahoma>News has filtered through from ICOM Japan that the very
popular <STRONG>IC-706</STRONG> Mark 2 G HF VHF UHF Transceiver has ceased
production.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Tahoma>The WIA reports that advice has also been received from
ICOM premium dealer <STRONG>Navcom Electronics</STRONG> that there <STRONG>are
only 14 units currently held in stock in Australia and that this stock is
expected to deplete rapidly</STRONG>.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Tahoma>There is good news as well though, as from 16 November 2009
all ICOM amateur radio equipment is being backed with a 5 year
warranty.</FONT></P>
