<H1>Leonid meteor shower</H1>
<P><FONT face=Tahoma>This year's <STRONG>Leonid</STRONG> meteor shower peaks on
Tuesday November 17, so <STRONG>get your VHF equipment ready for some DX meteor
scatter contacts</STRONG>.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Tahoma>The first debris stream will be crossed on November 17
around 0900 UT (4 a.m. EST, 1 a.m. PST). <STRONG>The next stream crossing will
be between 2100-2200 UT</STRONG>.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Tahoma>Hopefully they will provide an abundance of Meteor trails
that will reflect signals in the Amateur <STRONG>50, 70 and 144 MHz bands
allowing distances of up to 2,500 km</STRONG> to be worked.</FONT></P>
