<H1>Castor and Pollux Frequencies</H1>
<P><FONT face=Verdana><STRONG>Henk PA3GUO</STRONG> has provided what he believes
to be the actual frequencies of the two new Amateur Satellites Castor and
Pollux.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>In a posting on the AMSAT Bulletin Board he
writes:</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>My observation, confirmed by Mike, DK3WN, is that for best
results the following downlink frequencies should be assumed:</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Verdana><STRONG>POLLUX</STRONG>: 145.826 MHz 1200 bd
AFSK<BR><STRONG>CASTOR</STRONG>: 145.828 MHz 1200 bd AFSK</FONT><FONT
face=Verdana> </FONT></P>
<P><STRONG><EM><FONT face=Verdana>Henk, PA3GUO</FONT></EM></STRONG></P><FONT
face=Verdana>
<HR align=center width="50%" noShade>
</FONT>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>As yet there has been no confirmation from the ANDE
development team of these frequencies. The nominal frequency of the two
satellites was 145.825 MHz but it is not unusual for the operational frqeuency
of a satellite once deployed to be slightly different.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>In addition the signals from both satellites will
experience doppler shift of approx +/- 3 kHz on the frequencies
quoted.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>Special QSL cards will be available for reception reports
of Castor and Pollux, see<BR></FONT><A
