<H1>CT1HZE working 2m Es pile on June 7</H1>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>During the European 2m VHF contest on June 7th 2009, a
major sporadic E opening took place between southern Portugal and
France.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>Within 2 hours <STRONG>Joe, CT1HZE</STRONG> from Algarve
(grid locator IM57NH) worked about 170 QSOs via Es on 2m. </FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>Distances were mostly in the 1000 to 1900km range but even
stations from northern Spain were worked with distances well below 800km.
</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>This is equivalent to a MUF of > 240 MHz. For sure an
exceptional event. </FONT></P>
