<h1>Radio Pollution - NZ regulator inspects shops</h1>
<p><font face="Verdana">The New Zealand regulator, the <strong>Ministry of
Economic Development</strong> (MED), clearly take Radio Pollution seriously.

<p><font face="Verdana">They recently carried out visits to shops in Auckland to
ensure that the electrical products sold did not contribute to radio pollution
and interference. </font></p>

<p><strong><em><font face="Verdana">Audit carried out on compliance of electrical
products</font></em></strong></p>
<p><font face="Verdana">Smaller retail outlets in Auckland were the focus of
educational visits and audits during 27 April to 1 May.</font></p>
<p><font face="Verdana">Four Radio Inspectors and Radio Spectrum Management's
Compliance Officer visited shops and spoke to owners throughout the
week.</font></p>
<p><font face="Verdana"><strong>The audits assessed electrical product compliance
<u>levels in regard to the electromagnetic compatibility requirements that
protect the radio spectrum from interference</u>, and also looked at electrical
safety issues</strong>.</font></p>
<p><font face="Verdana">This is part of the Ministry of Economic Development's
ongoing work to ensure that electrical products supplied in <strong>New Zealand
are safe for use and <u>do not contribute to radio pollution and
interference</u></strong>.</font></p>
