<H1>ETSI Standards available as free downloads</H1>
<P>The <STRONG>European Telecommunications Standards Institute</STRONG> (ETSI)
makes its publications, such as those on <STRONG>Power Line
Telecommunications</STRONG> (PLT) available free of charge.</P>
<P>While some people have been able, through their work, to use the ETSI DVD's
few individuals are willing to <STRONG>spend 2000 Euros</STRONG> to purchase
them.</P>
<P>Fortunately private individuals can download ETSI publications free of charge
from the ETSI website.</P>
<P>The procedure to do this is:</P>
<P><BR>(1) Go To <A href="http://www.etsi.org/"
target=_blank>http://www.etsi.org/</A></P>
<P>(2) Click on "ETSI Standards Search" (top right-hand corner) this will
display the page "Individually downloadable publications, free-of-charge"</P>
<P>(3) Enter a search topic in the search for box, for example PLT and click on
"Search|"</P>
<P>This will display all the PLT related publications</P>
<P>(4) One of them will be ETSI TR 102 616 V1.1.1 (2008-03) "PowerLine
Telecommunications (PLT); Report from PlugtestsTM 2007 on coexistence between
PLT and short wave radio broadcast;Test cases and results"<BR>Click on
"Download", which will display the "Download" page</P>
<P>(5) Enter an email address you can access in the "Users without an ETSI
account" Email field</P>
<P>(6) Click on "Click here to register" - This will display the "PERSONAL
DETAILS" page</P>
<P>(7) Enter some Alphanumeric text in the fields marked with (*), leave the
others blank. </P>
<P>In the case of the question "For what purpose do you need toaccess ETSI
standardization information?" You could select "Industry Trends"</P>
<P>For the question "On a range of 1(low) to 5 (high), how important is it for
your organization to keep to date with standards?" You could select "very
high"</P>
<P>If you do not want junk mail from ETSI untick the box marked "I agree to be
contacted for more information regarding ETSI Deliverables, Publications and/or
Services."</P>
<P>(8) At this point an Email will be send to the address you gave above.</P>
<P>Send a blank email back to the sender</P>
<P>(9) Click the "Continue" button next to "You can download the publication you
requested"</P>
<P>(10) At last you can now download your PDF, right hand mouse click on the PDF
icon and select the appropriate "Save As" option according to your web
browser</P>
<P>Individuals can also get copies free copies of ITU regulations.</P>
