<H1>First D-Star repeater in Azores Islands</H1>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>The Ham Radio community and the Portuguese colleagues in
particular are cheerful in recognition for a brand new <STRONG>D-Star</STRONG>
repeater <STRONG>CQ0DAH B</STRONG>, in Terceira Island / Azores permanently
installed.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>This equipment passed a test period after a relatively
short time. The location is Santa Bárbara Mountain, near Angra do Heroismo
city in Terceira Island – Archipelago of Azores</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>Thanks to an agreement between the regional Ham Radio
Association, U.R.A. - União de Radioamadores dos Açores, and Icom's national
agent NAUCOM corporation, and also with local ANACOM Office (the Portuguese
administration of telecommunications) it was possible to achieve this ambition
project.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>On behalf of all ham radio colleagues, by this unique
opportunity to contribute for some avant-garde experiments on the innovative
digital technology D-STAR in Azores Islands.</FONT></P>
