<H1>FT-726 display replacement</H1>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>The blue display in a FT-726 gets unreadable after long 
time use. New display is not in stock. Many hams had this failure 
already.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>Members of <STRONG>LA2AB</STRONG>, our local radio club, 
have solved the display problem for LA8WF by replacing the original display in 
the FT-726 with a backlit LCD!</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>A pic processor is used on a new pc-board same size as the 
original displayboard and stacked on top of the old one.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>It uses a LCD display with 2 lines and 16 
characters.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>Then it will show the frequency in VFO A and VFO B 
simultaneously.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>You need to be used to solder and have a bit knowledge, 
but we have film for PCB as well as drawings the pic prossessor program etc, for 
hams who believe they can do this job.</FONT></P>
