<h1>AO-16 Spans the Atlantic </h1><font face="Verdana">Radio Hams have been making contacts across the Atlantic using the Amateur Radio Satellite AO-16, which was recently reconfigured for voice operation. </font><br><font face="Verdana">On the AMSAT Bulletin Board (AMSAT-BB) <strong>Robert G8ATE</strong> reports working <strong>CU2JX</strong> in the Azores followed by VE3NPC in Ottowa, Canada. </font><br>
<font face="Verdana">He did that running just 5 watts to a 6 element Quad antenna.</font><br><font face="Verdana">AO-16 is unusual in that it's uplink is FM but the downlink is SSB (more precisely DSB see link below) </font><br>
