ouvimos mais actividade nos actuais repetidores, hoje que temos uma profícua
rede analógica em VHF e UHF, nem sempre a trabalhar nas melhores condições

sentido, antes sim evoluir com valor acrescentado e o mais importante,

<DIV><BR> As possibilidades oferecidas e que todos os dias estão a ser
desenvolvidas pelo sistema D-STAR são enormes. Quer isto dizer, que no meu ponto
de vista, montar um repetidor digital no alto de um cabeço só por si, não faz
evoluir as telecomunicações, <U>agora tê-lo ligado á Rede Mundial e explorar
todas as suas vantagens presentes e futuras, isso sim é evoluir, com valor
acrescentado</U>.</DIV>

<H1>Manchester 2 metre FM repeater converts to D-STAR </H1>
<P><FONT face=Verdana><STRONG>GB3MI</STRONG> (145.7125 MHz) in Manchester (UK)
is changing from Analogue FM operation to become a <STRONG>D-STAR</STRONG>
repeater.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>The RSGB Emerging Technology Co-ordination Committee
(ETCC) website carries this report: <BR><BR>An analog internet-linked repeater
at Manchester GB3MI is to convert to D-Star technology and become
<STRONG>GB7MI</STRONG> on the same channel and with a similar coverage
footprint.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>The ETCC Proposals Manager welcomed this spectrum
efficient move and thought it could encourage other Keepers keen to embrace
digital technology to make similar swaps.<BR></FONT></P>
