Coronavirus: Ham radio events in Japan cancelled

JARL reports a number of amateur radio events planned for March have
been cancelled as a result of coronavirus

A translation of their post updated on March 3 reads:

The government has recently announced a policy regarding the new
coronavirus infection, requesting that the event be stopped,
postponed, or reduced in size for the next two weeks, stating that
"events that attract large numbers of people have a large risk of
infection."

The Federation, in line with government policy, has requested that all
events scheduled for the next two weeks be cancelled or postponed for
the time being.

Events that have been decided to be cancelled or postponed (branch
meetings, etc.) are as follows.

Canceled:
• The 19th West Nippon Ham Fair: March 8 (Sun)
• Tochigi Branch Ham Gathering: March 8 (Sun)
• Chugoku Regional ARDF Competition: Sunday, March 15
• Saitama Chapter Meeting: March 15 (Sun)
• Nara Branch Meeting: March 15 (Sun)
• Kagawa Prefectural Chapter Ham Festival in Kagawa: Sunday, March 22
