144 MHz: Radio amateurs take part in successful propagation experiment

*VERON* report 'many radio amateurs have responded to the call to occupy
the 2 meter band' during the *144 MHz Propagation Experiment* held on
Saturday, July 20

The VERON website says:

*Department A41 Flevoland held the 2 meter propagation experiment on July
20. The purpose of this experiment is to collect as much data as possible
about contacts on the 2 meter. But of course also to show that the radio
amateurs need this band. Certainly for conducting worldwide experimental
radio research. During the experiment it soon became clear that many radio
amateurs have responded to the call to occupy the 2 meter band. Moreover,
it appears that contacts in FT8 cause many reports on the DX clusters.*

VERON note the 2 meter propagation experiment featured in news stories on
broadcast Radio and TV. Johan PA3JEM and Marcel PA3HEB were among the radio
amateurs who gave interviews to the Media.
