National VOA Museum of Broadcasting to celebrate 75 years of VOA Bethany
Station at Sept. 21 event

Seventy-five years ago, propaganda fanned the flames of hatred across the
globe in a war that consumed the world.

While much of that propaganda streamed from radio broadcasts originating in
Hitler’s Germany and the Empire of Japan, the *Voice of America Bethany
Station* in West Chester helped calm the chaos by transmitting accurate VOA
war news to Allied troops and people living in oppressed countries that
lacked a free press.

This year, the National Voice of America Museum in West Chester
commemorates 75 years of the Bethany Station on Saturday, Sept. 21 - and
wants you to join in the festivities.

The VOA museum will host “*Celebrating 75 Years of VOA Bethany Station*†on
Saturday, Sept. 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the museum at 8070
Tylersville Road in West Chester. The evening will include
dinner-by-the-bite, cocktails, wine and Cincinnati Liars Lager beer, along
with museum tours and a friendly table-to-table Trivial Pursuit game, all
backgrounded by the relaxed tempo of cool jazz. Auction and silent auctions
will be held to raise funds to make the museum accessible for people of all
abilities.

Event sponsors include: Platinum Sponsor Dillard’s; Gold Sponsor Sebaly,
