Vintage TV report on Amateur Television operation

Arthur Bevington, G5KS & G6AFV/T, featured in this 1972 TV report
about his amateur radio television station

Arthur Bevington G5KS from Warley in the West Midlands is obviously an
enterprising man - it's not many people who have the skills to build
their own television station.

Operating from his home, Arthur has reconditioned equipment from ATV
in Birmingham and managed to get his snappily titled station G6AFV/T
on the air. With film, video and live television available will
nothing stop this new Midlands media mogul?

Bev Smith's report includes a spoof of the ATV Today titles complete
with out-of-sync music just in case viewers were confused about
exactly which station they were watching.

Note: G6 prefix callsigns were originally issued from 1964 as Amateur
Television callsigns. In 1977 TV operation was included as standard in
both Class A and Class B licences and a separate G6xxx/T licence was
no longer required.

The G6 callsign block was subsequently re-issued as Class B licences
during 1981-1982.
