Destaco apenas este pedaço da notícia:
"Commission action in this area is essential because unlicensed radio
stations do not broadcast Emergency Alert Service messages and therefore
create a public safety hazard for their listener"


Cá em CTlândia o problema não se coloca, pela razão simples de que as
estações comerciais de radiodifusão não possuem esta funcionalidade, até
porque ela nem existe ao nível das "Autoridades".

Há anos que advogo a criação de um sistema que em caso de
emergência/catástrofe/calamidade, se subrepusesse às emissões regulares de
rádio e TV, difundindo a mensagem e procedimentos a pôr em prática.

Soa-lhes familiar? Pois sim, desde o início da "Guerra Fria" que os EUA,
URSS, Reino-Unido, França, Alemanha(s), possuiam um sistema destes para o
caso de ataque nuclear.
Nos dias que correm, o NWS (National Weather Service) e o NHC (National
Hurricane Center) nos EUA tem um sistema em funcionamento.
O Japão, idem, relativo a terramotos e tsunamis.

Cá, enviam-se SMS (atrasados) a partir de uma base de dados de uma entidade
que opera apenas na região de Lisboa.
