Cuban radio hams prepare for hurricane

Radio amateurs in Cuba are monitoring the path of hurricane Irma

A post via IARU Region 2 says:

The Emergency Network of Federación de Radioaficionados de Cuba (FRC), in
order to maintain members informed about the possible trajectory of
Hurricane 'Irma', will systematically update this information where we
publish the image of the Path Forecast of this hazardous event.

September is the month with higher frequency of formation of Tropical
Cyclones in the area of the Northern Atlantic, the Gulf of Mexico and the
Caribbean. It is also the second most probable month of effects to our
country due to Tropical Cyclones, following October, which is the next
month that follows it in the calendar.

On the Federación de Radioaficionados de Cuba Facebook page Joel CO6JC
adds:

We also learned that in the Dominican Republic they are already
coordinating with their Emergency Operations Center (COE) and have reported
that they will use the 7065 and 3780 kHz frequencies in addition to local
repeaters. In Cuba we maintain the frequencies of 7110, 7120, 3720 and 3740
kHz, in addition to the internal frequencies of municipalities and local
repeaters.
