UAE radio hams use dedicated World Space Week call sign

In what was an exhilarating weekend in the emirate of Sharjah as *Emirates
Amateur Radio Society* (EARS) was recognized by the United Nations
Association UAE as UAE's top World Space Week communicator and commended
them on spreading their spirit for UAE and space, into Earth's airwaves

Securing this title for the 6th year, EARS annually invites the world to
connect and celebrate through its dedicated call sign '*A60WSW*' in
collaboration with the WSW National Coordinator, AYVF. In a number of
demonstrations, EARS welcomed in Sharjah International School's Head of
Science Dept., Mr. Shady Elkassas, a top Emirati student Suood Al-Ameeri,
and UN Association UAE's Director and Officer-At-Large Annie Ortiz to try
it out and learn more about ham radio, which is under the domain of the
Emirates Telecommunications Authority.

Leaders of Emirates Amateur Radio Society, Sheikh Abdulla bin Faisal bin
Sultan bin Salem Al Qassimi, R/Col. T.E. Murad Hasan AlBlooshi,  Yousif
Ahmed Mohamed, and Khalid Mhamed AlMarzouqi each took turns 'calling out'
"a warm 'Hello' from A60WSW and a special thank you to the amateur radio
stations from Italy and Belarus, among many more, connecting with us
through the special call sign to promote World Space Week-'73'" (73 is the
male code for good bye/ or as if saying: 'EARS out!''
