from Wythall RC

* Wythall Radio Club* are pleased announce that we will be running our
fifth on-line Foundation course for those seeking to gain their Foundation
licence.

We think this might be ideal for younger students or those who cannot make
a regular classroom attendance on our normal teaching nights as students
can study in their own time with support via posts from the tutor.

The programme is based around a virtual learning experience (VLE) software
named EDMODO which is free to use and has gained world-wide acceptance as a
safe and easy way for tutors to connect with their students at home via the
internet. Basically you sign up for the course free of charge and you get
notifications via e mail that the course material and quizzes are available
for you to download etc., and this would take place over a 5 week period
with two lessons per week. The course is planned to start on the 13th March
and complete by 14th April.

In order to take the Foundation examination there are a series of practical
assessments which have to be taken under the supervision of a registered
assessor. If you are not local to the West Midlands you will need to
identify a registered exam centre and exam secretary within travelling
distance of your home. You will also need to find a registered assessor who
can organise and sign off on the practical assessments for you.

If you do live in the West Midlands, then the Wythall Radio Club (B47 6LZ)
will be organising a Practical Assessments workshop on Saturday 29th April,
with an examination on Sunday 30th April. There is an examination fee of
£27.50 plus £5 room hire cost to do the practical assessments and
examination at Wythall.

If you are interested in joining this on-line course then please contact
the undersigned via e mail.

Regards
