The first IC 7300 arrives at Europe's Hamstore

On Friday 18th March, the first *Icom IC 7300* in Europe arrived at
Europe’s hamstore. *Justin Johnson G0KSC* has been operating the radio from
his home shack so far this weekend and says he is very impressed.

‘‘The IC 7300 is a 16 bit, 4th generation SDR transceiver so is digital
from the antenna socket and a combination of electronic and software
engineering have ensured phase noise is around the 135dB mark @ 50Hz. This
puts in right smack bang in the middle of the first page on the Sherwood
Receiver Performance List, competing with the likes of the FTdx5000!

The IC 7300 has some very new and exciting features including IP+. When on
upper HF bands late at night with many strong signals around, a combination
of FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) optimisation options can be
selected to enhance linearity or sensitivity of the receiver.

Waters & Stanton Europe’s Ham Store expect the IC 7300 to arrive before or
just after Easter although only a small number of the many hundreds of
units on order are expected to arrive so all hams are urged to be quick
with their orders to receive one from the first batch.

‘’The IC 7300 is one of the most eagerly anticipated radios ever and every
person I have spoken with so far while using it, have said they either had
one on order or were very interest to know how it performs.’’ Justin said.

Justin will be presenting at the CDXC (www.cdxc.org) dinner later today
(Saturday 19th March) and displaying his IC 7300 there for all to see.
