Pirate radio takes to the waves once again with special programme of shows
Pirate radio will once again be taking to the waves in Harwich as *Radio Mi
Amigo* broadcasts a special nine-day programme of shows.
The event will also see radio presenters Roger Day, Emperor Rosko, Charles
Nove and Liana Bridges broadcast during Harwich's Sea Festival on July 31.
The original pirate radio stations were much loved by music enthusiasts of
the 60s and 70s and allowed them to explore the fast growing pop genre
rather than the limited records played by the BBC at the time.
Radio Mi Amigo will run from July 30 to August 7.
It will celebrate 50 years of offshore broadcasting with live transmissions
and online streaming from the light vessel LV18, based on Harwich Quay.
