Ham radio net breaks record

The Essex 2m net held on *GB3DA* at 8pm on Mondays is always popular but
this week's broke all previous records with 32 people, including 7 women,
joining in

The net, held February 1, was set to wrap up just after 10:30pm, but a
debate started about the future of amateur radio, which ran for another 3
hours! It finally finished at 1:25am.

During a very constructive debate there were a number of suggestions about
what could be done to increase the number of people joining the hobby and
how to prevent the loss of those who do join.
