IARU Region 3 looks at 144.390 for FM APRS

Following the conference in Bali, the reports of the IARU Region 3 Working
Groups 1 and 2 are now available

WG2 agreed that the use of a common frequency for APRS would facilitate
propagation studies and tracking of high altitude balloons. Conference
Recommendation WG2-6 says:

*That the Region 3 Directors are requested to consult with Member Societies
and Regions 1 and 2 as to whether the frequency 144.39 MHz is suitable for
a common APRS frequency in Region 3.*

Following a paper submitted by the CRSA/CRAC WG1 Recommended

*That the IARU AC shall consider to make available some information on use
of the amateur satellite service for member societies, satellite groups,
amateur satellite operators as well as concerned radio amateurs. This
information should include, but not be limited to: - Criteria for a
satellite to be in the amateur satellite service and for use of the
relevant amateur satellite service frequency allocations - The frequency
allocations available for the amateur satellite service - The procedure for
the IARU Satellite Frequency Coordination*
