[image: ITU WRC-15]Compromises are reached as WRC-15 draws to a close:-

*Agenda Item 1.12 (10 GHz EESS)* was finally approved at plenary with
footnotes relevant to certain Middle Eastern countries and with the amateur
services allocations untouched.

*10 GHz and 24 GHz:* Threats by the mobile ‘phone/broadband industry have
been averted for the time being, but no doubt will be raised again at
WRC-19 and /or WRC-23.

*SmallSats:* Discussions for space operations frequencies for short
duration (3 years) Small Sats resulted in the frequency band 420-450 MHz
being dropped from the proposed WRC-19 studies. ITU-R has been invited to
study existing allocations to the space operation service below 1 GHz and
if no suitable frequencies can be identified, then possible new allocations,
or an upgrade of the existing allocations, to the space operation service
within the frequency ranges 150.05-174 MHz and 400.15 420 MHz should be
considered. *This compromise was reached after a mammoth session finishing
at 5.30 am on Thursday morning! *

Friday will be spent on courtesies, closing speeches and the signing of the
‘Final Acts’ by the head of every delegation. This is where I bow out….

Colin, G3PSM

PS: The final acts also include the WRC-19 proposal for the future
harmonisation of 50 MHz in Region-1
