Chelmsford Talk - 5 MHz NVIS Propagation

On Tuesday, November 3, *Marcus Walden G0IJZ* will give a presentation to
the Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (CARS) on 5 MHz NVIS Propagation, the
talk is open to all

With the 2015 World Radio Conference (WRC-15) in progress, the November
meeting will be a highly topical talk on 5 MHz by Marcus Walden G0IJZ.
* Near Vertical Incidence Skywave* (NVIS) is a key feature of 5 MHz, that
can give regional communications for emergencies and other applications
when other HF bands/conditions may be unsuitable. Marcus has written some
key papers on the topic, in support of Amateur Radio's effort to achieve a
successful outcome at WRC.

The talk will cover the 5 MHz Beacon Network, NVIS maximum and optimum
working frequencies and a comparison of 5MHz Beacon measurements with HF
propagation predictions

The meeting takes place at the Oaklands Museum, Moulsham Street, CM2 9AQ.
The doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start, car parking and admittance are
free, visitors are most welcome.
