Australian looks for Europe WWFF

A special effort is being made this Saturday, January 24, in the
Brisbane Ranges National Park, about an hour by road west of
Melbourne, Australia, hoping that many DX contacts will result.

Tony Hambling VK3VTH is no stranger to the area that has the richest
wildflower habitat that has long since vanished from other parts of
the region.

It proudly is part of the WWFF that honours national parks with flora
and fauna. He will only work on or around 14.244 MHz, the suggested
World Wide Flora and Fauna (WWFF) frequency 0630z-0900z, looking
particularly for Europe but anywhere.

Tony VK3VTH gained the VKFF Gold Award in December 2014 for having
operated portable in 30 listed parks.

Steeped in the history of the area he operates from Aeroplane Road. In
December 1936, a Bristol Bulldog single-seater biplane was tracking a
weather balloon from relatively nearby Royal Australian Air Force base
at Laverton, when the plane came down.
